Rigging

Animation

Personal development and refining skills in kinematics. As a motion designer I have been curious in experimenting with body movement rigging and facial expression. I am currently studying Duik in more detail. I plan to add to this project to create a collection

I have blocked out basic light, shadow in monotone for this running rig as I didn't want to get distracted by UI. Making him look partially in flight, as you would when you run, was a challenge without any foreground or background elements to support the theme.

2.5d Face rig. Here I am testing how much expression you can achieve using basic facial features. I haven't given her eyebrows however I have used positional and rotational parameters in her eyes to create her saddened expression and animated her back to a happy expression. Together with head movement and observing direction of gaze, timing when she blinks supports the change in expression by creating a natural partition between both expressions.
